Day 1. Arrive in Ulaanbaatar and City tour After arriving in Ulaanbaatar, you will be met at the airport and transferred to a 3-star hotel. After a light lunch in the hotel, there will be a program of sightseeing in the afternoon. This will include the National History Museum , where you will see artifacts from Mongolia and Central Asia from the Stone Age to the present, and an excursion to the Zaisan Hill War Memorial to get your bearings with a panoramic view of the whole city. Dinner and overnight in the hotel.
Day 2. Erdene-Zuu, the oldest Monastery Drive to Karakorum, the site of the capital city of the Great Mongol Empire founded by Genghis Khan in the 13 th century. Visit Erdene-Zuu, the oldest Monastery in Mongolia, built in 1586, with its famous wall containing 108 stupas. You can see listen to monks chanting Buddhist sutras, see the stone turtles from the ruins of Karakorum, and admire the famous Penis Rock. Overnight in tourist camp. Full board
Day 3. Drive to Horgo extinct volcano and discover horseman's family Tour to Arkhangai province will be quite exciting with exploration of attractive landscape composition of mountain, forest, grassland and rivers. On the way v isit the family of a horseman. You are free to taste the favorite drink of Mongolians - airag , fermented mare's milk and horse ride trial. Overnight in tourist camp. Full board.
Day 4. Relax - Discover volcano area A whole day will have trekking to explore and discover the Horgo extinct volcano crater and Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake - good spot for bird watching and fishing. Overnight in tourist camp. Full board.
Day 5. Drive towards to Khuvsgul National Park On the way we will see Ovor Tsogt deer stones and Uran Dosh High Mountain and wonderful natural site of Huvsgul province. Overnight in the tent. Full board .
Day 6. Drive to Khuvsgul National Park After breakfast we will drive to Huvsgul Lake in Huvsgul Aimag. Huvsgul Lake is the deepest and purest lake in Mongolia . Near Huvsgul lake are found the Tsaatan ethnic people. These enigmatic people herd reindeer not only for their antlers, a lucrative medicinal material, but as well for their milk and meat. Day 7. Relax & Visit Tsaatan family This day you will have the opportunity to boat, hike, or horse trek to the lakeside and mountains for exploring and taking pictures of the flora and fauna of the Huvsgul lake area. Visit a Tsaatan nomadic family and experience their daily life. If you have always wanted to ride a reindeer here's your chance!. Overnight in the tourist camp. Full board
Day 8. Tour to Zavkhan Today we drive towards the main western aimags of Mongolia. Khovd, Bayan-Olgii, Uvs, and Zavkhan provinces are dominated by the towering grandeur of the Altai and Khangai Mountain Ranges. These mountain ranges contain the highest peaks of Mongolia the exquisite snow-capped beauties of Tsambagarav, Tavanbogd, Turgen, and Otgontenger Mountains . Also we will see many beautiful lakes, including Uureg, Gardan, and Oygen lakes . We will camp near the lake of Tsavdan Nuur. Overnight in tents. Full board
Day 9. Tour to Uvs aimag Uvs Aimag, or province, was originally named after the main ethnic group which inhabited the area. The Dorvod ethnic group, who still makes up just under half of population of Uvs , speak their own dialect. Mongolia has more than twenty different ethnic groups. About ten kinds of ethnic groups live in the four western aimags. Uvs Lake is a gigantic inland sea in the middle of the desert. This salt lake is so large that you cannot see the far shore, creating the impression that you have indeed reached the sea. Here you will truly enjoy the beautiful scenery. Overnight in tourist camp. Full board. Day 10. Visit Dorvod nomad family After breakfast at the camp you can if you want try horse trekking or hiking. We will also visit a Dorvod nomad family and have the opportunity to taste traditional Mongolian dairy products such as milk, yogurt, and curds. Overnight in tourist camp. Full board
Day 11. Explore Bayan- Olgii aimag Today's destination is Bayan-Olgii Province , which shares a border with China along the Altai Mountains . This country is rich in beautiful untouched nature including the eternally snow-capped peaks of the Altai Mountain Range and pure lakes and rivers. Kazakh people live in Bayan-Olgii aimag. We will meet Kazakh people and have a chance to see their famous Golden Eagles, which are trained for hunting. Overnight in tourist camp
Day 12. Free horse ride trial The culture of Mongolia has been based on horses from time immemorial and Mongolians respect the horse as the national symbol of Mongolia. During this ride you will feel and understand the association between the Mongolian horse, the majestic landscape, and the life of Kazakh nomad people. Overnight in tourist camp. Full board.
Day 13. Visit Kazakh nomad family Kazakh nomadic families continue to honor their traditions and customs. We will visit their homes and experience their unique way of life amongst the mountain peaks and valleys strewn with wild flowers and fresh water lakes teeming with fish. The Kazakhs are different from other ethnic groups, as you will have an opportunity to see. Overnight in tourist camp. Full board.
Day 14. Flight back to Ulaanbaatar and city tour options Up early you will be driven back to capital of the Bayan-Olgii province, Olgii with your guide for your return flight to Ulaanbaatar. You may choose a city tour where you can visit souvenir and cashmere shops before an evening concert of National Folklore. A gala farewell dinner and overnight in the hotel.
Day 15. Departure Mongolia You will be transferred from your hotel to the airport. |
