Mount Tilicho is a tough but straightforward climb. The Tilicho Peak Campground is located on the shores of the clear blue Lake Tilicho. Tilicho Peak is technically interesting because the standard route over the northwest shoulder contains a mixture of rock and ice that leads to steep snowfields. The top of Tilicho poses little objective danger because of its very broad shoulders. The views from the peaks are breathtaking: the Annapurna massif, Dhaulagiri, the Tibetan plateau and below, the deepest valley in the world, the Kali Gandaki valley and Lake Tilicho.
